Good Sammy is a for-purpose organisation creating employment opportunities for people with disability. We’ve been around since 1958 and we have a workforce of over 800 individuals, with almost 50% who identify as having disability.
Our efforts to make a difference extend beyond the workplace. Good Sammy is a driving force in sustainability, keeping nearly 7 million kilograms of used goods out of landfills annually. Our operations span various social enterprises, each contributing to our greater purpose.
•    Retail: Our op shops are the public face of Good Sammy. They serve as platforms for individuals with disabilities to explore the retail industry, supply chain operations, and logistics. By supporting these enterprises, we are nurturing skills, breaking stereotypes, and promoting community engagement.
•    Hospitality: We recently opened our first ‘Good Thanks’ café, creating more customer-facing roles for people with disability, which are critical in breaking down some of the stereotypes that exist in the community.
•    Business services: Our diverse business services encompass warehousing, logistics, packaging, assembly, and gardening. By providing these services to the Western Australian business community, we're not only delivering quality work but also offering secure employment in an environment that values safety and structure.
•    Containers for Change: With a commitment to environmental responsibility, we operate a large-scale Containers for Change social enterprise. This initiative not only supports our mission but also contributes to a more sustainable future.
Good Sammy’s training academy also provides structured learning and work experience opportunities through our contemporary programs, helping participants to build skills and confidence.


Your Impact:

As a sales Coordinator, you will be responsible for the ongoing development and growth of our commercial partnerships. You will represent Good Sammy in a competitive donated goods marketplace and ensure that we are first choice for willing donors, retailers and container users.  The role will also have responsibility to identify other commercial and mission opportunities for Good Sammy.

What You’ll do:

  • You will develop and service a target list of opportunities and seek input from the social enterprise team to continually prospect for leads and opportunities.
  • You will be able to assess the commercial benefits of a potential opportunities to be executed by the organisation.   
  • You will manage your business development pipeline to ensure consistent volumes of clothing and container donations are achieved. 
  • You will follow-up on leads and opportunities provided from Good Sammy Managers and Partners.  
  • You will create and maintain outbound marketing efforts via letters, calls and presentations to new & existing target clients in collaboration with the Marketing Team.  
  • You will seek to maximise potential for donation, recycling, volunteering, internships and open market employment. 
  • You will prepare, issue and maintain service agreements. 
  • You will report monthly on collection and redemption data and other internal stakeholder reporting requirements. 
  • You may be required to provide specialist advice to senior management in preparing the desired outcomes for the department. 
  • You will provide administrative and wider support to the team when needed. 

Who you will work alongside:

You will be part of the Good Sammy Social Enterprises Team and will foster close working relationships with the Containers for Change, Retail, Warehouse and Service Delivery teams to bring those teams the opportunities and to ensure that they are executed.  

You will be comfortable reporting and communicating to the team via email, face to face and via formal written progress reports.  You will be a trusted partner to the organisation who support us via donations and service delivery and you will make time to service these relationship digitally and via face to face discussion. 


What You’ll bring:

Essential Selection Criteria

  • 2+ Years’ experience in a sales role. 
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word. 
  • You will be able to travel to other locations within Perth and capability to maintain a clean driving record.
  • Commercial acumen. 
  • You are a natural relationship builder and love the challenge of creating and maintaining partnerships. You will demonstrate high levels of personal integrity to ensure that partnerships with new customers/businesses are carefully and professionally managed and deliver value to Good Sammy.  
  • You will understand the importance of feedback and providing impact data to highlight the value of the donated goods and invite feedback to continually improve partnerships.  
  • Your passion for social justice, inclusion and circular economy principles will be evident in your approach to your work.
