This role requires a combination of technical knowledge, sales skills, and an understanding of the specific needs and challenges within the mining industry.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assisting in the development and execution of strategic plans to increase market share, prospecting new market segments, initiating initial contact, and obtaining client commitment for the successful growth of the business
- Coordinating sales activities, including generating leads, preparing quotes, and following up with potential clients
- Assisting and collaborating with the sales team in the development of marketing materials and sales strategies tailored to the mining sector to meet sales targets and objectives.
- Conducting product demonstrations and training sessions for clients
- To provide technical support to clients regarding mining equipment, machinery, or software products
- Troubleshooting technical issues and providing solutions to clients in a timely manner
- Keeping track of sales data, customer interactions, and technical support requests
- Developing and maintaining relationships with clients in the mining industry
- Proactively staying up-to-date with industry trends, technologies, and competitors
- Has an Australian-recognised bachelor’s degree in a related field in Engineering (such as Mechanical, Electrical/System/Software), business, or mining technology
- Previous experience in technical support, sales, or customer services roles, especially within the mining industry
- Previous experience as Mobile Plant Maintenance (MPM) Engineer, MPM Mechanic, or other relevant mechanical experience is highly desirable
- Has adept understanding of mobile plant mining equipment maintenance, machinery, and software systems to provide effective technical support to customers
- Has strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
- Has the analytical and problem-solving skills to conduct troubleshooting technical issues and finding solutions for clients
- Familiar with mining operations, safety regulations, and industry trends to provide relevant support and understanding clients’ needs.
- Possess working knowledge in programming concepts (Microsoft/Linux, Matlab, and Android platforms) as well as Python or other languages, algorithms, and databases
- Ability to work both in a team and autonomously
- Demonstrated ability to adapt to changing circumstances and customer requirements, and meet task time limits and deadlines
