The Head Office and Manufacturing Facility is based in Victoria, Australia. 

As a Sales Engineer for Screens solutions, you will help drive the growth of our business by nurturing leads and opportunities that currently exist, along with those new opportunities provided by the National Business Development Manager – Screens. This dynamic role will require a combination of technical expertise, sales acumen, and a proactive approach to building lasting relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

Sales Strategy: Create and execute a comprehensive sales strategy aligning with the company's goals and objectives.

Customer Solutions: Understand customer requirements and challenges, develop a range of small to large, tailored solutions, by preparing quotes and presenting proposals that effectively address their needs. A practical mechanical understanding will be essential in proposing technically feasible solutions.

Sales Engineering: Prepare and interpret sales and technical documentation for estimation to generate accurate pricing.

Self-Motivation: Thrive in a standalone role, managing and prioritising tasks independently to achieve sales targets.

Customer Relationship Management: Establish and nurture strong relationships with new and existing customers, becoming a trusted advisor, maintaining regular communication.

Market Research: Stay up to date with industry trends, competitor activities, and market developments to capitalise on emerging opportunities.

Closing Deals: While you will enjoy the advantages that come with working for a company with market share dominance, it is important you are able to demonstrate Return on Investment to clients for the solution, to be able to successfully close the deal.

Travel: Travel as required within Australia to meet customers, attend exhibitions and site visits.

About you:

You will possess demonstrated skills of applying practical solutions in mechanical applications. With a minimum of 3+ years’ experience in a similar environment, you will showcase:

  • Proven track record in sales and business development, preferably in the water management or related industry.
  • Experience in creating proposals, and customised solutions for customers.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to effectively present complex technical information.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and drive results in a standalone role.
  • Mechanical background and practical understanding of clients operating requirements. (Sales engineering background would be advantageous).
  • Experience using CRM (Salesforce experience is advantageous).

Location Flexibility: This is a hybrid role that will require monthly attendance to the office located in Cohuna, Victoria. Remote applications accepted.

Our world class self-cleaning screen technology operates on low approach velocity principles that minimise debris and fish impingement and entrainment. Eliminating intake blockages, prolonged infrastructure life, low maintenance, reduced power consumption and aquatic life protection, are all subsequential benefits of our modern screens. The range of robust screens are available in various configurations and sizes to meet most intake requirements. These screens can be applied in a wide and diverse range of applications such as; irrigation, stormwater, sea water, water storage, commercial – industrial and cooling plants to name a few. AWMA also manufacture a range of travelling debris removal screens which are all custom made to meet customer requirements and site conditions. The applications are diverse and endless and an open mind and understanding of water control solutions will be advantageous.
