About the role
An outstanding opportunity is available for a proactive and experienced Sales Engineer - Mapro & Power Transmission (MPT) to join the SKF team. This is a full-time position based at our Head Office in Oakleigh and will report to the Sales & Business Development Manager – Mapro & Power Transmission ISEA.
This role will focus on growing SKF’s Mapro and Power Transmission market share by generating new business revenue through offering technical sales support and business development activities together with driving value-added products and integrated solutions across all SKF channels to market.
In addition, the role will be responsible for:
- Assisting with the development and implementation the Mapro and Power Transmission strategies and business plans in line with SKF group, IEB and SKF Australia strategies.
- Providing technical support to all channels (aftermarket/distributors/OEM) for all products.
- Collecting and analysing market intelligence, present & future business trends and competitor information for Mapro and Power Transmission products.
- Working in close cooperation with all stakeholders to deliver customer value including, but not limited to, Customer Experience, Segment Team, Marketing, Logistics and Application Engineering.
- Supporting SKF Partners and Customer Experience for Requests for Quotations (RFQ) with active communication with SKF National Industrial Sales Manager / MPT ISEA Head and factories as required.
- Ensuring leadership level connection at all strategic key accounts.
- Sharing news and success stories across the organisation and support the knowledge development in line with sales and segment team needs.
- Ensuring efficient and effective sales process with “Sales Excellence” approach.
- Closely working with relevant SKF stakeholders for complex projects.
- Leading, monitoring or supporting the progress of Strategic Programs, and initiatives.
- Maintaining active and regular communication with core team community.
- Utilising and updating C4C with relevant information.
- Traveling to customer sites & offices as required (frequent)
About you
To be considered for this role you will have:
- At least five years’ experience in a similar role.
- Engineering background / technical aptitude with experience in Business Development Management.
- Demonstrated experience developing strategies to acquire new market share.
- Demonstrated experience working with key stakeholders at all business levels.
- Strong knowledge of process industries including but not limited to Mining, Power, Oil & Gas, Cement, Food & Beverage, and the potential application of relevant products.
- Experience in handling engineering projects – comfortable with learning and supporting new products.
- Basic product knowledge and an interest in acquiring more knowledge of the SKF Mapro and Power Transmission products.
- Knowledge of Distribution Management / Channel Partners Management
- Demonstrated Office 365 skills (Power Point, Excel, SharePoint, Word, Teams, OneDrive and Power BI)
- Demonstrated experience in ERP systems
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
