Position Overview: We are seeking a dynamic Sales Manager to accelerate the adoption of our pick and place robotic solutions in the Australian market. This role will suit someone who leads with sales instincts, understanding customer needs and confidently demonstrating our solutions. A technical background in engineering and/or automation machinery will be essential to effectively communicating value to customers, collaborating with the engineering team, and closing deals.
Key Tasks:
- Customer Needs Assessment: Conduct in-depth consultations with potential clients across various industries. Understand their unique pain points, bottlenecks, and automation goals.
- Sales Negotiation and Closing: Lead sales negotiations, address customer concerns, and secure contracts.
- Needs Assessment: Conduct thorough needs analyses to identify customer requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
- Relationship Management: Build strong, lasting relationships with clients throughout their automation journey, ensuring satisfaction and identifying opportunities for further collaboration. Capture comprehensive site visit notes and translate client discussions into actionable CRM details.
- Site Visits and Troubleshooting: Conduct pre- and post-deployment site visits, assess system performance, and provide troubleshooting assistance when required.
- Technical Demonstrations, Training & Presentations: Deliver compelling demonstrations and presentations, showcasing the capabilities and benefits of our pick and place robots, tailored to specific customer requirements.
- Solution Design: Collaborate closely with customers and our engineering team to develop customized solutions and integration that meet their specific needs and budgets.
- Proposal Development: Create persuasive technical and commercial proposals, including detailed system configurations, pricing, and implementation timelines.
- Market Intelligence and Competitor Analysis: Stay informed about industry trends, competitive product offerings and emerging technologies in the pick and place robotics space.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Computer, or similar) or a closely related technical field.
- Sales Experience: Proven ability to navigate intricate enterprise sales cycles, successfully closing deals through strategic relationship-building and by delivering technical solutions. Quantify with specific percentages or revenue figures where possible.
- Customer Focus: Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport, understand customer challenges, and offer solutions.
- Travel Willingness: Availability and willingness to travel extensively across Australia for site visits, demonstrations, and client meetings, including rural and remote locations. Overnight stays may be necessary.
- Technical Background: A degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or similar) or equivalent experience / knowledge of robotics or automation solutions.
- Domain Knowledge: Familiarity with agriculture or agritech is a bonus and will help you excel in this role.
- Robotics Expertise: Understanding of pick and place robotics concepts, including end-effectors, industrial robotic arm products, and computer-vision based concepts. Knowledge of industry automation in the food industry and/or warehouse operations is a bonus.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think creatively and adapt to customer requirements.
- Team Oriented: The drive and desire to collaborate and win as a team in an innovative, flexible, and fast paced startup environment.
