The Opportunity

The business supports customers in a variety of industries and works with them to help deliver projects on time and to specification.  BlueScope Distribution supports its customers by helping them find the freedom to do what they do best.

Today you’ll focus on ensuring your team and customers are supported to manage the requirements of ‘here and now’. To achieve this, you’ll regularly engage with cross-functional teams and split your time between the office and out in the field.

Tomorrow’s focus will see you take a future lens. Of course, that will involve strategy and planning. Equally you’ll develop the capability of your people and be encouraged by your Manager to continue your own career development.

What Will You Do?

Leading the Sydney Metro sales team and centralised NSW customer service team, you’ll collaborate with cross-functional colleagues and customers alike. You will:

  • optimise the NSW sales budget: develop and implement a commercially astute sales strategy and plan to deliver on service, volume, margin and profit targets
  • foster an inclusive and high performing team: coach and motivate your team to enhance engagement, well-being, capability and performance
  • build customer value: grow collaborative partnerships and in-depth understanding of customers that enables BlueScope to deliver enhanced value and experience
  • enable growth opportunities: identify sales, service, customer and market trends –developing approaches and ways of working to deliver on new business opportunities
  • facilitate future-focused innovation and change: collaborate with others, influencing them to enable business improvements and facilitate innovative solutions

More About You

We don't need you to have steel knowledge or experience. We have an internal network who can support you with that.

As a sales leader with an enthusiasm to see your team succeed, you will bring:

  • a demonstrated ability to lead, engage and develop your team
  • demonstrated ability to build meaningful customer value and solutions that’s delivered measurable outcomes for your business
  • excellent knowledge of sales operations and CRM (e.g. Salesforce or similar)
  • the ability to build constructive partnerships with others to achieve business outcomes
  • excellent commercial acumen including an understanding of pricing and margin and its impact on profitability
