The Office
The MSC Brisbane office is a recently refurbished, modern office in a beautiful Spring Hill heritage building. With end of trip facilities, automated coffee machines, security access and a team of supportive and dedicated colleagues, working in this office is a delight!
We are surrounded by cafes, restaurants and other amenities and are walking distance from Central train station and key bus routes, providing easy access to the CBD and suburbs.
The Role
We have a fantastic opportunity for a full time, permanent Sales Support Officer within the Sales Team.
The primary task and responsibilities for this position:
- Assist the sales team with rate quotations, rate agreement updates, client tenders and notices to shippers/clients
- Follow up on quotes issued and provide the relevant employees with details of clients who should be contacted, visited or re-quoted
- Accurate maintenance of the import and export systems as required
- Coordination and follow-up sales leads as received
- Preparing and filing liner booking notes and service contracts if required
- Compile Sales Executive’s client call reports for further analysis and discussion
- Analyzing of sales data and statistics to provide feedback and reports to the State Manager and Sales Executives
- Maintain client agreements to ensure they are up-to-date
- Provide technical and administrative support to the Sales Executives
- Other functions include market research and preparation of trade studies
The successful applicant will be expected to demonstrate the below skills:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Brilliant customer service skills
- Ability to work under pressure and handle many tasks simultaneously
- High level of analytical skills, ability to assess statistics and develop recommendations based on market analysis
- Computer literacy with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Extremely detail oriented
- Resilient and persistent
- Self-motivated and performance driven
- Experience in a customer centric role within shipping / logistics is highly desirable
