We are seeking an experienced Sales Territory Manager to Join our team.
Pacific Optics is an award winning and leading supplier of General Merchandise, Phone Accessories and Sunglasses in Australia.
We have an exciting opportunity for a driven individual who thrives on working autonomously to deliver results, maintain existing customer relationships and continually seeks out new business opportunities within an assigned geographical area.
It is preferred the applicant be based in Hobart however, Launceston may be considered for the right applicant. As this is a state-wide role it will require 10 nights of country travel over a 6-week call cycle. You will service customers from a customised vendor refill van.
The Role
This role will have the successful candidate on the road actively servicing and driving sales through our existing customer base while seeking out new business opportunities. This requires sales, merchandising to a high standard and instore compliance checks as well as building and maintaining strong relationships.
Reporting to the VIC State Manager - you will be delivering against monthly sales budgets, managing seasonal stock weight to planograms, merchandising displays across multiple categories and introduce new products to your customers. You will be an excellent communicator who understands customer needs and have outstanding organizational and time management skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintaining, retaining, and growing relationships with existing accounts.
- Growing sales and meeting budgeted sales targets
- Manage customers’ orders via a vendor refill model
- Promoting new product ranges, including showing product samples
- Merchandising to high standards and gaining optimum positioning in-store
- Following up customer enquiries on pricing, product and account discrepancies
- Manage your own regional satellite storage shed.

We are looking for someone with:
- Effective communication skills (written, verbal and non-verbal)
- Sales fundamentals (presentation, ability to influence, build rapport)
- Positive attitude and self-motivated
- Ability to work autonomously
- An eye for detail and presentation
- A passion for driving long distances
- Previous sales experience in Route channel would have an advantage
- A full Australian driver’s license.
