About the Role
The primary purpose of the Salesforce Developer role is to design, develop and implement custom Salesforce solutions to meet user, business and technology needs across the organisation. They play a key end-to-end role from understanding business requirements, performing technical analysis, designing, building and implementing predominantly code-based solutions on the Salesforce platform.
Key Duties
- Translate functional requirements to define user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Carry out technical analysis to design solutions on the Salesforce platform to meet acceptance criteria, aligning with architectural principles while meeting measurable business, customer, and staff outcomes.
- Ensure high quality, cost-optimal, simple, flexible, and scalable design in line with best practice and with minimal customisation.
- Build solutions on the Salesforce.com platform including Lightning, Apex, Web Services and APIs
- Build integrations between Salesforce and other IT systems.
- Build and release code in iterative release cycles.
- Communicate technical solutions and design trade-offs effectively to team and other relevant stakeholders.
- Showcase solutions with stakeholders to capture and incorporate feedback.
- Leverage CI/CD or automated testing tools across the development lifecycle to improve the pace and quality of development activities, including configuration management.
- Work alongside and support platform leads in ensuring development and release activities and deliverables are delivered within agreed constraints of time, cost, quality, benefits, and risk.
- Ensure configured solutions align to standards and meet non-functional requirements.
- Document solutions and undertake knowledge transfer with a seamless transition to the platform support team.

- Solution delivery on time and to required quality.
- Thorough documentation of delivered design, build and processes.
- Demonstrable efficiency, cost, revenue, risk reduction, customer experience and staff engagement benefits as outlined in Performance Plan.
- Positive feedback from key business and technology stakeholders
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to leverage data, insights, and feedback to elicit and prioritise technical requirements.
- In-depth understanding and experience of Salesforce programming.
- Curiosity and learning agility.
- Good communication / documentation and mediation skills, and the ability to liaise between technical and non-technical stakeholders with a consultative approach where there may be conflict.
- Pragmatic and decisive in balancing conflicting priorities and trade-offs
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to finding technical solutions.
- Alignment and commitment to Baptcare’s Mission, Vision and Values
- 3+ years’ proven Salesforce development experience, including Apex Classes, Apex Web Services (with REST and SOAP standards), Apex Controllers, Triggers, Batch Apex, Apex Schedulers, Custom Settings, Custom Labels, SOQL, SOSL and Migration Tools.
- Experience with HTML, CSS, XML and JavaScript.
- Designing & constructing APIs, including handling external APIs (RESTful & SOAP) and other types of 3rd party systems integrations.
