We have a unique and exciting opportunity for an experienced solar salt production manager to provide salt production technical expertise across Cheetham Salt Australia.

The role
This role reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer and will be responsible for developing the multi-year salt production strategy, including a continuous improvement program to drive solar salt production excellence, by challenging the status quo and leveraging new technology and best practice techniques.
- Review existing solar salt production across all sites and benchmark against international best practice.
- Develop and implement a Salt Production continuous improvement program to challenge and optimise both solar salt production efficiency and salt cost.
- Provide solar salt production mentorship to Production Coordinators and supporting their ongoing development.
- Identify capital improvements required to support the Salt Production Excellence program.
- Oversee the annual budgeting process for salt production and cost across the operating sites identifying business excellence cost out opportunities.
- Ensure that there is a plan to support the resilience of the salt fields to future environment impacts.
- Stay abreast of international solar salt production developments and identify opportunities
- Be aware of alternative salt projects and impact / opportunity for the business
About you
You have 10+ years of solar salt production management experience including the development and execution of salt production strategy and continuous improvement programs. You can interact, influence, coach and mentor staff in an engaging and motivating manner. You believe nothing is more important than your health and wellbeing, and your passionate about building an inclusive and positive company culture.
To be considered for the role you must have the following:
- Degree in Engineering (Chemical/Agriculture preferred), Hydrology, or Agriculture related discipline
- Formal training in Management and/or qualifications
- Demonstrated leadership experience in Maintenance & Engineering Services
- Experienced in the implementation of continuous improvement and lean manufacturing tools
- Ability to travel domestically to the operational sites and also internationally to attend relevant conferences
