ALS Water are looking for a Laboratory Assistant | Field Technician located at the Melbourne Water Eastern Treatment Plant. You will be part of a small team working side by side with the client to provide assistance and water sampling as required. You will provide quality service with optimising turnaround times whilst ensuring the highest protocol is achieved and maintained.

The successful candidate will receive on the job training and support and is Monday to Friday - 6am - 2.15pm with some overtime on occasion.

Uniforms will be supplied.

The day to day

  • Water Sample Testing
  • Hands on role, requiring teamwork, reliability and initiative
  • Organising daily Sampling tasks.
  • Adhering to the site and ALS safety requirements
  • Learn the contract requirements for service delivery to the client
  • Data Entry
  • Logistics and Co-ordination
  • All field documents, COC's check sheets are of sufficient standards.
  • Maintain sampling equipment.
  • Calibration of sampling instruments
  • Conduct additional sampling as required by the onsite customer!
  • Delivery of samples to ALS Scoresby Laboratory as required.

The Essentials

  • Previous experience working in Laboratory or as Field Sampler desirable.
  • Good Attitude and ability to work in small team.
  • Sound knowledge of and adherence to HSE principles and practices.
  • Physically fit | some manual handling involved.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Enjoy working outdoors.
  • A current Victorian driver's license.
