Remuneration: AHP2 ($86,950 - $100,729 p.a. + 11% Super) / PO2 ($86,950 - $96,223 p.a. +11% Super)Role DetailsThe Department for Child Protection is currently seeking an Aboriginal Sanctuary Practitioner and a Sanctuary Practitioner to join the Therapeutic Residential Care unit on a full-time term basis.The roles are responsible for:

  • Ensuring that features of cultural safety and responsivity is integrated and embedded into the training and implementation of Sanctuary model into Residential Care.
  • Contributing to the development of technical competence of Residential Care staff in relation to the Sanctuary model.
  • Assisting Residential Care staff application of a cultural lens to their daily practice and in the development and implementation of departmental policies, programs and organisational activities at the local level.
  • Providing professional guidance and direction on complex cases drawing on the principles and practice of Sanctuary.
  • Preparing reports in relation to audits and quality improvement initiatives relating to the implementation of Sanctuary.

The department provides support to vulnerable children and young people to be safe, strong and connected.Special ConditionsEssential Qualifications:AHP: A degree level qualification in Social Work which gives eligibility for full membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers.
