The Department for Child Protection is currently seeking anAboriginal Sanctuary Practitioner and a Sanctuary Practitioner to join the Therapeutic Residential Care unit on a full-time term basis.
The roles are responsible for:
- Ensuring that features of cultural safety and responsivity is integrated and embedded into the training and implementation of Sanctuary model into Residential Care.
- Contributing to the development of technical competence of Residential Care staff in relation to the Sanctuary model.
- Assisting Residential Care staff application of a cultural lens to their daily practice and in the development and implementation of departmental policies, programs and organisational activities at the local level.
- Providing professional guidance and direction on complex cases drawing on the principles and practice of Sanctuary.
- Preparing reports in relation to audits and quality improvement initiatives relating to the implementation of Sanctuary.

We are looking for a confident individual who has the ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships with people both within government, non-government sector and community.
The ideal candidate will have experience in providing professional advice on a wide range of residential care practices to meet young people’s needs.
You will also have a demonstrated ability to analyse complex problems, formulate suitable solutions and produce good outcomes for clients.
