The Opportunity
We are seeking a SCADA Design Engineer to join our VIC Engineering team and develop high quality designs for utility and renewable energy projects. Based out of our Burwood East office, you will spend a majority of your time designing and configuring but also some hands-on testing. Devising designs that are compliant with client and industry standards, as well as assisting with preparation of tenders, will be a key responsibility in this role. Other responsibilities include:
- Design and develop full control systems solutions for assigned projects
- Ensure design and implementation is aligned to project technical specifications.
- Liaise with project managers, domain experts, and engineers in various disciplines for integration into overall project detailed design.
- Ensuring all work is completed to a high level of accuracy and quality.
- Ensure project schedule and budget is achieved.
- Provide key input into the selection of equipment for defined applications
- Technical and Project Report Writing.
- Develop and witness appropriate Factory Acceptance / Site Acceptance, Testing of engineered solutions.
Requirements
- Tertiary qualifications in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or equivalent
- Minimum of 3-5 years’ demonstrated experience in personally designing and delivering complex projects.
- Experience working with large scale SCADA systems, particularly in a testing capacity would be highly regarded.
- Should working knowledge of a variety of DCS/SCADA-PLC solutions from concept design, detailed design and engineering support with implementation and FAT/SAT.
- Experience with DCS Systems (i.e.Yokogawa Centum DCS, Siemens Simatic PCS 7 etc.)
- Experience with SCADA Systems (i.e. Fast/Tools, Citect, FT View, WinCC etc.).
- Experience with PLC Systems (i.e. Allen Bradley, Schneider Modicon, Siemens Simatic etc.).
- PLC/SCADA/DCS system design and development/programming on major complex systems.
- Experience in designing, developing, and diagnosing PLC, RTU, HMI, SCADA and network systems.
- Ability to interpret control system requirements and create functional design specification (FDS), Interface Data Table (IDT), IO Summary, Cables, and termination schedules.
- Understanding of PLC design/programming, HMI experience
- Experience in Generator control systems / Inverters.
- Field instrumentation
- Process Control System (PCS)
- Experience with AutoCAD Electrical
- Networking and communications: TCP/IP, Ethernet/IP, Modbus, DNP3, MQTT, OPC DA/UA
