Job description

Brunel are partnering alongside a reputable utility company in Victoria, Australia. Our client is recognised for their commitment to delivering high-quality water and wastewater services to its customers.

The role

As the SCADA Technician you will be joining a multi-disciplined team to provide technical support services for the organisations automation and telemetry infrastructure, you will be utilising problem-solving skills to perform fault finding and maintenance tasks across the SCADA network.

Your duties will include:

  • Analyzing faults and identifying the root causes within water treatment plant operations.
  • Regular monitoring and adjustments to uphold KPI’s for both quality and quantity.
  • Proficiency and assurance in utilizing SCADA technology.
  • Strong communication abilities to effectively collaborate with on-site teams, engineers, and management.
  • Interpreting and applying engineering documentation.
  • Capability to work autonomously as well as part of a collaborative team.
  • Dedication to safety procedures and a proactive stance toward accident and incident prevention.
  • Currently using Rubicon SCADA but will be moving to Clear SCADA/ GEO SCADA.
  • Working on an “on call roster” currently 1 in every 4 weeks. 
Requirements

Requirements:

  • A relevant qualification in a technical field (e.g., Electrical, Radio or Instrumentation).
  • Must have full working rights in Australia (Permanent Residency or Citizenship preferred)
  • Proven capacity to provide technical guidance with a strong focus on customer satisfaction.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for cultivating and sustaining positive working relationships.
  • Advanced project management expertise and proficiency in contract administration.
  • Capability to analyze, prioritize, and troubleshoot technical issues effectively.
  • Proven capacity for analytical and critical thinking.
  • Understanding of the fundamentals of Networking. 

Desirable:

  • Experience with Clear SCADA/ GEO SCADA is highly desirable, but not essential.
  • Previous experience in a plant operation similar role within the water treatment, industrial, or process industries.
  • Experience in telecommunication or network communications is highly desirable.
  • Experience with RF communications would be highly desirable.
