The Role
The purpose of this role is to maintain and improve Operational Technology (OT) field assets including control systems and telemetry. You will ensure reliable network operations through proactive and reactive maintenance of assets, root cause analysis and fix, ensure optimal asset management, and support the design and commissioning of new infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
Key areas of responsibility include:
- Provide expert technical support for Operational Technologies (OT), encompassing control systems and telemetry, crucial for Water, Sewer, and Treatment Plant operations, ensuring continuous reliable functionality and timely fault rectification.
- First-point response to maintain OT communications networks, including digital radio and broadband cellular technologies, ensuring robust connectivity and efficient data transmission.
- Participate in 24/7 duty rotating rosters for emergency maintenance works.
- Develop and implement control system philosophies and SCADA network designs, aligning with project requirements and industry standards to optimize system performance and reliability.
- Analyze SCADA and control system performance, identify areas for improvement, and oversee project scopes, budgets, and designs to enhance operational efficiency and address system deficiencies.
- Lead the commissioning of new control systems and communications infrastructure, ensuring adherence to installation standards and operational quality while upholding cybersecurity protocols.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, establish and maintain standards for maintainability and operability, inspect work packages delivered by vendors, and provide mentorship and training to junior peers to foster knowledge sharing and skill development.
- A current open drivers licence is required.
About you
We are looking for someone who can bring a deep level of expertise in Operational Technologies, with a real passion for continuous improvement and a collaborative mindset. If you have the following capabilities, get in touch:
- Accomplished professional with a robust background in industrial control systems and programming, encompassing PLCs and RTUs, coupled with hands-on experience in reviewing electrical control wiring and installations.
- Proven track record in project management, adeptly navigating complex initiatives while ensuring meticulous attention to detail and adherence to timelines.
- Proficient in managing and maintaining documentation systems, possessing comprehensive knowledge of code repository and version control tools such as Octoplant/VersionDog.
- Skilled in the configuration and programming of various RTU devices, including SCADAPack, Brodersen, and GE PLCs, as well as expertise in OT Digital Radio and 4G/IoT modems, bolstered by a deep understanding of SCADA and Operational Historian platforms.
- Exceptional interpersonal and negotiation abilities demonstrated through effective engagement with key stakeholders at all levels, complemented by a solid grasp of OHS law, obligations, and regulations.
