Our client, a premier provider of scaffolding solutions spanning residential, civil, and commercial projects, is seeking Leading Hand Scaffolders for both permanent and casual positions in both Forster and Port Macquarie. ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Lead Hand Scaffolder, you will play a key role in coordinating site teams to ensure the safe and efficient erection and dismantling of scaffolding structures in accordance with project specifications and Australian standards.
The Main Responsibilities of this role include:
- Interpret plans, drawings, and written instructions to execute scaffolding tasks accurately.
- Identify and communicate site hazards to ensure a safe working environment.
- Delegate responsibilities to team members based on their strengths, weaknesses, skills, and willingness.
- Conduct risk assessments and implement safety control measures to mitigate potential hazards.
- Complete various site-specific forms, including site diaries and day Labor dockets, to maintain accurate records.
- Mentor staff to integrate them into the company culture and uphold core values.
- Organize the team to complete scaffolding tasks efficiently and safely.
- Coordinate works with site foreman to ensure seamless project execution.
- Conduct daily pre-start meetings and toolbox talks to brief the team on safety procedures and project requirements.
- Possess a valid scaffolding ticket/certificate and relevant industry qualifications.
- Previous experience in Scaffolding with a minimum of 2 years in a team leader position.
- Thorough understanding of Australian scaffolding rules, techniques, and safety protocols.
- Good leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide team members effectively.
- Good communication skills to liaise with team members, site foremen, and project stakeholders.
- Commitment to upholding safety standards and ensuring a safe working environment for all.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced construction environment.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements and deadlines.
