Avondale University is seeking applications for a Scholarships and Prizes Officer to join the Students and Engagement Team on a part-time basis (22 hours per week) for a 24-month contract.

This important role will have you at the forefront of driving Scholarships and Prizes for current and future students. You will create new scholarship opportunities and guide students in the process of applying for scholarships. Put your high level of communication skills to good use and make a difference for our students.
What will you do?
Some of the main duties will include:
- Provide advice informed by research to ensure a scholarship or prize aligns with the university’s strategic objectives and guidance about how to properly use funds for a scholarship and prize.
- Analyse the potential risks of offering a scholarship or prize.
- Provide advice about the end use and recipient area for and the value, eligibility, and conditions of a scholarship and prize in consultation with relevant academic or professional staff members.
- Draft Scholarships and Prizes documents.
- Update the register and website repository of Scholarships and Prizes.
- Coordinate scholarship and prize logistics such as scheduling meetings between donors and scholarship and prize recipients.
- Administer the application and selection process by corresponding with applicants and recipients, liaising with Student Finance Services, processing applications, and updating the student management system.
About you
To be successful in the Scholarships and Prizes Officer role, you will have excellent administration skills and attention to detail. You will have great communication skills across all mediums and great relationship-building skills.
Essential criteria
- A tertiary qualification and experience in project management and administration or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Excellent administrative and organisational skills with high attention to detail and level of accuracy.
- Proven ability to identify problems, make recommendations and implement appropriate solutions;
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Salary: Avondale Higher Education Worker Level 5 $36.20 – $40.51 per hour, plus superannuation.
