We are seeking an incredible School Chaplain to support the faith, spiritual and pastoral needs of students at St Joseph's, North Ipswich. This can include support and guidance about ethics, values, relationships and spiritual issues; the provision of student welfare; and enhancing engagement with the broader community.
As School Chaplain you will:
• Contribute to and promote the development, alignment, attainment and review of the mission and strategic goals for Brisbane Catholic Education
• Work closely with others to promote and develop student wellbeing, emotional resilience, positive relationships and a sense of community
• Collaborate with other role holders such as the Principal, APRE and Guidance Counsellor in supporting the faith, spiritual and pastoral needs of students
• Provide appropriate referrals for students in accordance with school approved protocols and processes
• Promote positive partnerships within and beyond the school community
Selection criteria for the position of School Chaplain are:Eligibility to work within Australia for the period of this appointment.Currently hold or ability to obtain Paid Employee Positive Notice Blue Card.Recognised by the school community and governing authority for the school as having the skills and experience to deliver School Chaplaincy to the school community. (If funded under National Student Wellbeing Program or Queensland Government funded Student Wellbeing Officer Program).Recognised through endorsement by a recognised or accepted religious institution.QualificationsCertificate IV qualification in Pastoral Care, Youth Work, equivalent or higher certificate with competencies in mental health and making appropriate referrals.Completion of the professional learning package, ‘Responding To and Preventing Cyberbullying’delivered by the Office of the eSafety Commissioner within three months of commencing National Student Wellbeing Program services and refreshing every two and a half years thereafter.For government funded program, apply for a temporary waiver through Queensland Catholic Education Commission (QCEC), if the above qualifications are not met.
