The Role
We are seeking to employ a School Photographer on a casual basis. The role would suit a photographer who may be looking to gain further experience across a broad range of photographic opportunities, creating content covering a range of sporting and social events throughout the year. The role would suit a photographer at an intermediate level. The majority of the work is outside the hours of 8am – 4pm on week days and covering weekend sport and events. Key duties will include:
- capturing content at various sporting events around Brisbane; team shots, coaches and players, candids, action shots
- documenting social events at the school and around Brisbane; fulfilling event briefs, guest candids, group socials, venue and catering images
- timely post processing and file transfer according to specifications.
The position offers flexibility in terms of the seasonal sporting events (selecting just a few of the most convenient games for you to capture across the season) while other events are one-off occurrences. We can offer opportunities for mentorship to develop your skills and learn from our team, while having freedom to share your own skills and implement your own ideas.
About You
The ideal candidate will be an intermediate photographer, who has a good command of photography skills and is also looking for an opportunity to further develop their technics and experience. You may be currently studying photography and looking for an opportunity to complement your study with experience. You will:
- be familiar with Adobe editing software and Sharepoint file sharing.
- have strong organisational and time management skills
- be able to work with confidence, discretion and autonomy
- be creative and have a good eye for detail
- be a team player with strong communication skills to ensure the team is aware of the progress on assignments you are working on.
- have access to a suitable camera and relevant lens
- as the majority of photoshoots are off campus, the candidate must be able to make their way to a range of locations in Brisbane and surrounding areas.
