Aquinas Catholic College is a Systemic Co-educational College located in the Sutherland Shire with an enrolment of 1,128 students and 108 staff. We are seeking to employ an experienced, dynamic and innovative receptionist. The applicant will be a strong team player supporting our values and mission, providing high level professional and personal support to members of the College Leadership Team and teaching staff.
Applications from suitably qualified candidates are invited for this temporary Long Service Leave (29 April to 5 July) role, which exists to support the delivery of quality teaching and learning within a Catholic school context. The successful applicant will have strong knowledge, experience and skills in administration.
Key responsibilities:
- First point of contact for all enquiries in the College Office (in person and via phone)
- Assisting with general school office duties including administration and finance
- Communicating with parents, students, teachers and other support staff
- Assisting with preparation of awards
- Handling mail, faxes and general emails on a daily basis
- Point of contact for deliveries.
- Proven ability to recognise confidential issues as they arise and to treat them with the sensitivity required
Experience and qualifications
- Minimum of 2-3 years experience in a busy reception role
- Post-secondary administration or other relevant qualification equivalent to Certificate III or IV or a Diploma in Administration Business Services or equivalent.
- Demonstrated advanced level of computer literacy with proficiency in MS Office and Google Suite
- Demonstrated personal initiative and time management skills
- Ability to multi-task and set priorities and responsibilities with high attention to detail
- Highly developed interpersonal skills, with the capability to work autonomously and unsupervised as well as being a member of a busy and fast-paced school office
- Ability to adapt to changing school requirements and needs
- Must hold a valid Working With Children Check.
Desirable:
- A current Sydney Catholic Schools employment ID number
- Experience in a school setting and working knowledge of Compass
The hours of work will be 8:00am to 4:00pm Monday to Friday. Remuneration is as per the NSW & ACT Catholic Systemic Schools enterprise Agreement - General Employees Level 3 or 4 depending on experience.
