OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE
The Laboratory Technician collaborates with and assists the College Laboratory Manager and Learning Leader - Science in the efficient management and administration of the science laboratories on each campus.
The Laboratory Technician performs duties as directed by the Learning Leader - Science, working independently with little supervision to perform responsible tasks associated with the efficient operation of the laboratory. The Laboratory Technician reports directly to the Learning Leader – Science and the College Laboratory Manager.
MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
The responsibilities of the Laboratory Technician include but are not limited to:
i. Providing support for teaching staff within the Science Faculty;
ii. Preparation and maintenance of the Science Laboratories;
iii. Ensuring Occupational Health and Safety guidelines are maintained within the Science Laboratories;
iv. Assisting with financial elements of the Science laboratories;
v. Performing other duties and implementing decisions as requested by the Principal, Science Learning Leader or College Laboratory Manager.
