The Research and Innovation Section is responsible for the initiation, development and delivery of research projects which advance ChemCentre’s legislated requirement to conduct research for the benefit of the state and also for the commercial objectives of our research partners.
About the roleWe are seeking a highly motivated scientist who can undertake data analysis to support ChemCentre-led research projects and investigations, consistent with the Chemistry Centre Act (2007)
The successful applicant will contribute to data analysis and reporting for a national CRC TiME project investigating social, technical and regulatory barriers to reuse of mine pit lakes after mine closure. Research activities will include using national pit lake data to develop a pit lake classification framework.
To be successful, you will have the demonstrated ability to work and communicate effectively with tight deadlines.
The successful applicant may be required to participate in Emergency Response training and activities determined by organisational needs
This position is a full-time position offered on a Fixed Term Contract for three and half years (3 ½) years, with the possibility for extension or permanency, subject to funding.
Suitable applicants may be considered for like positions within 12 months from the date of finalisation of the selection process.

The position is located in Building 500, Resources and Chemistry Precinct, Manning Road, Bentley.
Eligibility To be eligible for a fixed-term appointment, it is essential to have documentary evidence of your entitlements to live and work in Australia for the period of the contract. To be eligible for a permanent position, Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residency is essential.
Completed prior to commencement, applicants will require National Police Clearance, WA Police Integrity Check and pass a Fit for Work test.
