The Scrum Masters works across multiple teams and areas fostering and growing Agile principles, processes and practices. As servant leaders, they balance delivery requirements with complex improvement initiatives fostering a culture of continuous improvement and Agile excellence.
The Scrum Master researches and understands modern Agile trends and practices and educates and trains other to progress the capabilities and understanding of Agile techniques and practices. They facilitate and deliver several complex Agile ceremonies across multiple teams, including program increment and sprint planning, daily stand-ups, scrum of scrums, retrospectives and showcases to internal and external stakeholders, including cross-agency attendees.
The Scrum Master designs and implements Agile operating models and strategies for newly formed projects and existing delivery areas while considering the current and historical context and delivery timeframes and targets. They develop and foster strong working relationships with internal, external and cross-agency partners and stakeholders.
• Identify and analyse risks, issues, opportunities, develop and lead change strategies, and monitor outcomes to foster a culture of continuous improvement
• Design and implement agile operating working models and strategies based on localised context and requirement
• Build and sustain relationships with stakeholders and/or other government agencies and industries to identify opportunities and achieve delivery outcomes
• Facilitate and lead complex agile ceremonies, provide recommendations and manage outcomes, through servant leadership
• Resolve complex issues using professional knowledge and experience and identify and analyse alternative courses of actions and their implications
• Negotiate deliverables, support levels, and workflows to ensure effective delivery of business outcomes
• Research agile trends, industry dynamics, frameworks and tooling to guide the Departments agile maturity
Skills and Experience Required:
• At least 2-3 years recent experience as Scrum Master in the Commonwealth environment.
• Experience working in project delivery using agile methods.
Location and Contract Term: This role can be based in ACT, NSW, VIC or QLD. 12 month contract with options to extend 2 x 12 months pending budget and delegate approval. Minimum 2-3 full days per week in the office. Remote/flexible work arrangements can be discussed upon commencement.
Security Requirements: Applicants must be Australian Citizens. A Baseline security clearance is required for this role.
