Seasonal Farm Hands

A family owned and operated farming aggregation in North-Western NSW has two positions available for Casual Farm Hands to work across their farms. The farms produce dryland cereals, pulses, cotton and carry self-replacing beef cattle.
 
Starting now for up to 6 months your duties include operating modern GPS guided cropping machinery, general farm machinery maintenance, checking stock, cotton irrigation (minimal cycles remaining in current season).
 
To be successful you must have demonstrated experience in a similar position, a manual driver’s licence, your own vehicle for personal use, effective English communication skills and be available for up to 6 months. And the positions are best suited to physically fit workers with a good attitude, a strong work ethic and effective English communication skills who enjoy variety in their work and have farming knowledge they are willing to share.
 
The positions come with your own room in air-conditioned shared accommodation on farm including electricity, and the farm provides a vehicle for you to drive to work.  The farms are located close to Burren Junction and  Walgett which offer shopping, healthcare, sports and recreation.

 DUTIES

• Competently operate broad acre farm machinery & equipment 
• Conduct mechanical maintenance and minor repairs
• Cattle husbandry
• Grain handling and storage
• General farm duties and maintenance – cotton irrigation & occasional fencing

 SKILLS & QUALITIES

• A happy outlook and an enjoyment of farming
• Demonstrated broad acre cropping machinery experience
• Must be physically fit and capable of working independently
• Must be reliable, honest, well organised with a strong work ethic
• Problem solving ability, uses initiative & works safely
• Be tidy and clean living
• Must have valid, clean manual driver’s licence & own vehicle
• Chemical accreditation preferred
