Secondary Teacher - Part Time: Year 7 - 9 French

Job Description
Alia College is seeking a part-time (FTE 0.28) French teacher for our Junior (combined Year 7 & 8), and Year 9 class, commencing as soon as possible.
This time fraction will be timetabled over two days and may be suitable for someone looking to continue employment as a teacher in a low capacity while managing other commitments. Or perhaps someone looking to ease their way back into teaching or looking to semi-retire from teaching.
Alia College is a small, dynamic, alternative, co-educational secondary school in Hawthorn East and is sometimes described as progressive, or democratic. The school has academic aims and a commitment to holistic approaches, supporting self-expression, creativity, problem-solving and acceptance of responsibility consistent with levels of maturity.

At Alia College class sizes are generally small, teachers and students are on first name basis and Teachers shape the curriculum and work closely with students in the classroom.
The successful applicant/s must have a current VIT registration. They will have a sound knowledge of the French course and have a dynamic and flexible approach to engaging students' interests and energies and will potentially be able to think outside the box when working with students. They will also have a willingness to engage in aspects of Alia outside regular classes, such as excursions, presentation nights, camps, homeroom, and information sessions.
