Job Details:
Job Summary: This position is responsible for the management, maintenance and support of assigned systems. This position installs operating system patches, software upgrades, software installations, and modifications of systems to ensure systems availability to meet customer KPIs.
This position typically works under general supervision and direction. Incumbents of this position will regularly exercise discretionary and substantial decision-making authority.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Manage and progress incident tickets / assigned tasks to completion in accordance with SLAs. Escalate to senior technical management when SLAs are likely to be breached
• Maintain state of mission critical servers running customer applications
• May design, develop, test and deploy new solutions
• May manage databases
• Analyse and troubleshoot faults and make recommendations as to the most effective course of action
• Provide support to other internal teams
• Proactively monitor servers and related infrastructure
• Provide support on patching of critical servers as well as upgrades
• Troubleshoot network problems and outages; may maintain network cabling including installation
• May be required to configure and install equipment
• Plan, document, communicate and execute planned changes through the change management process
• Liaise with and manage third party providers of systems as required
• Provides end user training on systems as required

Minimum Job Requirements:
Qualifications

• Qualifications in information technology or related discipline
• Industry Certification for Microsoft Windows, Red Hat Linux, VMware, and/or Networking is desirable.

Skills/Experience/Knowledge
Essential:

• 3 years’ experience in a systems administration role preferably in a medium - large IT environment
• Experience supporting and building server operating systems.
• Experience with supporting client applications.
• Experience with hosting database environments.
• Experience with supporting networks.

Desirable:

• Knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory
• Knowledge of Red Hat Linux environments
• Knowledge of LAN and WAN based technologies
• Knowledge of networked storage systems
• Knowledge of operating system hardening
• Enterprise Backup experience
• Scripting (Perl, VBS, and PowerShell)

Condition of Employment:

• Must be an Australian Citizen
• Currently holds a Negative Vetting 1 security clearance and is deemed suitable for NV2, as per AGSVA eligibility guidelines
