About the role

As the Security Engineer, Application and Infrastructure, you'll be a key player in ensuring the security of our Application and underlying AWS infrastructure. Collaborating closely with various teams, you'll conduct security assessments, identify vulnerabilities, and implement best practices to safeguard our systems. Your role involves managing security configurations, staying compliant with regulations, and effectively communicating security risks to stakeholders. Additionally, you'll play a vital role in monitoring and responding to security incidents.

Key Responsibilities; 

Security Assessment & Remediation: 

• Conduct security assessments using SAST and DAST tools, identifying and remediating vulnerabilities. 
• Ensure secure coding practices and integrate security throughout the SDLC. 

Infrastructure Security & Compliance: 

• Manage AWS security configurations, implement controls, and monitor for incidents. 
• Maintain compliance with regulations such as ISO27001, GDPR, and HIPAA. 

Collaboration & Communication: 

• Collaborate with stakeholders to integrate security into development and operations processes. 
• Document security procedures and effectively communicate risks and mitigation strategies. 

Monitoring & Incident Response: 

• Implement and maintain security monitoring tools, analyse logs and alerts. 
• Respond to security incidents following established procedures. 

About you

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or equivalent practical experience. 
• Minimum of 3 years' experience in Application and/or infrastructure security within a cloud environment, with a preference for AWS expertise. 
• Proven proficiency in security testing methodologies, including SAST, DAST, and penetration testing. 
• Solid understanding of secure coding practices and principles of secure development life cycle (SDLC). 
• Demonstrated experience in implementing security controls and monitoring tools within AWS environments. 
• Familiarity with pertinent security regulations in the healthcare sector, such as ISO27001, ISO27017, GDPR, and Essential Eight. 
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities. 
• Capacity to work autonomously and manage multiple priorities effectively in a fast-paced setting. 
• Strong attention to detail and adept problem-solving skills.
