AddressThe Security Governance Officer is a part of a team responsible for supporting the Security Governance functions. This role manages the day-to-day activities of the Security Governance Team, which includes assisting with maintenance of the security helpdesk and Security Governance mailboxes, processing working away from the office applications, supporting ongoing reporting obligations, and providing generalist support services to the wider Security Team.
An understanding of the following is desirable (but not required):
- the Protective Security Policy Framework and associated guidelines,
- security risk management principles,
- security policy development,
- the Public Governance, Performance and Accountability Act 2013, and
- legislation and industry standards relating to property, particularly the Building Codes of Australia.
Key Duties
- Provide a high level of support to departmental staff for physical security and Security Governance services,
- Maintain supervision of the security helpdesk function and the Security Governance mailbox,
- Manage and process working away from the office applications for departmental staff and external contractors,
- Manage and process security breach reports
- Support the development of regular reporting, briefings and budgets related to Security Team functions,
- Support a series of projects
- Assist in the procurement of goods and services via tendering and contracting processes as required,
- Support and interact with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders,
- Liaise with business support teams to ensure the pipeline of future activities related to the Security Team is communicated managed, and
- Provide input and manage documents relevant to business continuity for the Security Team
