If so, you may be well suited to our role as Security Advisor within Regional Maintenance Centre (RMC) North located in Darwin. RMC North is a newly established business unit responsible for maintenance of the Navy fleet in the Darwin region, initially the Evolved Cape Class Patrol Boats.
The Security Advisor within RMC North will perform and achieve complex protective security work within an integrated workforce. They are accountable to ensure they have knowledge of and compliance with legislative frameworks, government decision-making and Defence's mission and policy requirements.
Key duties include:

• Providing complex protective security advice to stakeholders to enable the achievement of appropriate security controls
• Prepare and present security training and awareness sessions and briefings to Defence personnel
• Acquire and apply knowledge and experience to identify, research and analyse complex protective security issues to enable accountable decision making
• Build and sustain productive and collaborative relationships with stakeholders to achieve protective security objectives
• Undertake research and analysis, conduct reviews, assessment, and investigations and perform procedural and administrative support work to achieve results.
• Perform administration tasks within the Business administration team as required.

About our Team
In response to the Australian Government developing a nationwide naval shipbuilding enterprise the Future Maritime Sustainment Model is being implemented to realise Plan Galileo; Maritime System Division's national, long term approach to sustainment of the naval fleet.
Regional Maintenance Centre (RMC) North is located in Darwin and will provide capability support to the Royal Australian Navy. The focus of this organisation will be on enhanced collaboration, co-ordination, workforce development and expansion to build the capability and capacity needed to meet increasing ship maintenance demands.

As the position is located in Darwin and considered to be a remote locality as defined in the Defence Enterprise Agreement 2017-2020, the successful candidate will have access to additional remuneration and entitlements including:

Our Ideal Candidate
An APS 5 Security Advisor will have demonstrated understanding of and experience in Defence security policy, procedures and controls. They will interpret and provide advice within the Physical Security function based on legislation, policy and procedures.

• They will undertake specialist research and analysis, conduct reviews, assessments and investigations and perform procedural and administrative support work to achieve results.
• They will have a considerable level of stakeholder engagement skills and experience in liaison with stakeholders, respond and provide advice on issues to achieve work unit and Defence outcomes.
• They will be an excellent communicator, with the ability to leverage interpersonal skills to build and sustain productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• They will be organised, demonstrate attention to detail, communicate effectively and be able to manage workflow whilst working in a dynamic and busy environment.
• They will be accountable to contribute towards ongoing self-improvement and professional development.
