About the role:
Our team is seeking 2 skilled Security Officers to join our Night Shift roster at Mater Mental Health Centre – Waratah. This role is responsible for maintaining the security, safety and protection of all staff, patients and visitors to campus.
A typical work day:
- Maintaining the security of the premises and property
- Apply access control utilising the relevant site access control systems
- Act as a first responder to any emergency situations
- Escort persons
- Communicate effectively
- Basic response of
- Anti-social behaviour
- Room lockouts
- Assist with Environmental issues
- Basic First Aid

About the Team:
Working on our Hospital Campus you will provide a prompt and efficient security and emergency response service throughout the buildings and grounds of the campus, aimed at maintaining a safe and secure environment for staff, patients and visitors.
Security service being protection of persons and minimising property loss and/or damage. Providing security services in accordance with relevant policies and procedures. Our security team is very experienced in performing patrols inside and outside buildings, grounds, and work areas; watches for unauthorized persons, responding to fire and general alarms, and unusual occurrences; and reports emergencies upon discovery. Identifies and reports persons/suspects in cases of unauthorized entry into state buildings, grounds, and work areas, malicious mischief, or other violations.

The successful applicants will have highly developed communication skills, be a self-directed and self-motivated Security professional. You will have experience dealing with members of the community, using use your proven experience in communicating and responding to challenging and aggressive situations.
This position is a Night Shift position 10.5 hr shift from 10.30pm to 7am.
Our successful candidate must be
- Eligible to drive in NSW with a current unrestricted NSW Drivers Licence
- Hold NSW 1A Security Licence
- & a current relevant First Aid Certificate
You will be supported at site by our Security Manager and a Multi skilled and experienced Security Team.
