Security Officer Trainee

Full-Time Internal Traineeships (a number of positions available) with Northern Protective Services Pty Ltd (NPS) as a Security Officer in the Kimberley Region of Western Australia, initially in Kununurra.
Subsequent to the Employee successfully completing a mandatory 3-month Internal Traineeship, the Employee will be appointed as a Full-Time Security Officer subject to ongoing satisfactory performance, maintaining licensing and compliance requirements.
NPS will fund the Trainee to obtain a Certificate II in Security and Crowd Control, Responsible Service of Alcohol Certificate, a First Aid Certificate, and the SAIWA (Security Agents Institute of Western Australia) Test (post course). This training takes place in Perth/Kununurra
Successful Applicants will be paid a training wage for a 80-hour working fortnight,(currently $1765.60 per fortnight) starting from their date of commencement. This amount will increase to the full-time Security Officer Level 2 classification once the Employee receives their WA Security Licenses.
Trainees will be given:
- A well-rounded education in working in different types of security and crowd control environments;
- Mentored by an experienced Security Officer where you will spend time working alongside an experienced Security Officer, enabling the Employee to observe and learn in a practical environment; and
- Learn the Policy, Procedures, Expectations and Work Culture within NPS and the wider EK Services Group.
The Trainee will be expected to demonstrate complete reliability in attendance for rostered work, and, commit to a minimum period of 12-Month engagement with the Employer. This is non-negotiable.
POSITION DUTIES
Demonstrated skilled and consistent performance and delivery in security and crowd control in a respectful and disciplined manner in security environments including but not limited to:
- Security Patrols
- Static Security
- Hospital/Mental Health Security
- Event Crowd Control
- Night Club/Pub Crowd Control
- CCTV Monitoring
Demonstrated discipline and compliance with all company Standard Operating Procedures and Policies
Attendance and punctuality for all rostered shifts
Maintaining personal presentation to the company required standards.
RENUMERATION & BENEFITS
Paid above Security Services Award 2020; Annual earning are dependent upon actual Rosters; and
Remote Accommodation Assistance Allowance.

SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Qualifications:
Mandatory –
- 18 + years
- A full class 'C' drivers licence is required for this role.
- Minimum Triple Vaccination for Covid-19
- Willingness to be drug and alcohol test prior to employment
