Selwyn Snow Resort is back better than ever this year and we are looking for an experienced Sewerage Treatment Plant Operator to come work in the newest Wastewater Treatment Plant in the Snowy Mountains! Our brand-new state-of-the-art facility offers the opportunity to be involved in a groundbreaking program that involves recycling the treated water for snowmaking.
The Operator works as part of the Mountain Operations Team and is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the resorts Sewer treatment systems to EPA and NPWS environmental standards.
It is desirable that the applicant has a Certification in Water Treatment (Cert III) or a Certificate in Water Industry Operations and recent water industry experience. Applicant must be available to work between May - October 2024.
The key responsibilities of this position include:
- Operating, monitoring, testing, and maintaining all aspects of the resort's sewerage process systems, as well as recycled and reclaimed sewer process infrastructure.
- Determining the necessary chemical dose rates to ensure efficient sewage treatment.
- Monitoring and maintaining sewer treatment chemical stock levels.
- Identifying equipment faults and process issues and implementing corrective actions.
