Qualifications & experience
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business; professional accounting registration preferred.
- 3 years of financial management experience.
- Strong analytical, communication, and negotiation skills with high level of attention to detail.
- Proficiency in financial management principles and internal control frameworks.
- Ability to deal with stakeholders at all levels, both internally and externally.
- Experience using Xero, MYOB or similar accounting software.
- Microsoft packages, including advanced Excel skills.
- Self-motivated and driven by success.
Tasks & responsibilities
- Managing and overseeing financial transactions and records within Xero accounting software.
- Preparation and analysis of financial statements including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Ensuring compliance with Australian accounting standards and regulations in all financial activities.
- Reconciling bank accounts, credit cards, and other financial accounts to maintain accuracy and integrity of financial data.
- Performing month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries, accruals, and adjustments.
- Generating and presenting financial reports and analysis to management and stakeholders.
- Monitoring and managing budgets, forecasts, and financial performance metrics to support decision-making processes.
