We are seeking a part-time (3-4 days, per week) Senior Accountant to join an established not-for-profit organisation and their team. As a key member of the finance team and working with the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), the Senior Accountant will provide an oversight of the financial operations and compliance of the organisation.The OpportunityReporting directly to the CFO, the individual will support in leading a transformative project focused on enhancing the operational efficiency of the finance team. There is ample opportunity to take ownership of pivotal financial functions, while provide high-quality customer service to stakeholders.As the Senior Accountant your key responsibilities will include:
- Overseeing end-to-end payroll operations, ensuring compliance and accuracy
- Managing accounts payable and receivable processes, resolving discrepancies promptly
- Coordinating weekly bank reconciliations and prepare financial reports
- Facilitating month-end procedures, including accruals and BAS returns
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, with CPA certification or a master's degree being highly desirable.
- Previous experience in award-based payroll functions ideally SCHADs Award
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Possess excellent communications skills
