Our client is a multinational Consumer Goods brand that enjoys a terrific reputation in their field. As a well-established leader in their sector globally, they have recently launched their operations here in Sydney, Australia. With a portfolio of desirable household products sold around the globe, coupled with their driven culture, our client is building a local enterprise that will be second to none.
They have offices based in Sydney CBD and are looking to continue their growth in market share. This is a position that is well suited to an individual looking to play a significant role and make an impact.
The Role
As a Senior Accountant, you will be working a standalone role using SAP that is broad and hands-on overseeing all accounting activity for the Australian entity. Your duties will include (but not be limited to):

• Month-end and year-end reporting
• Preparing Statutory tax lodgments - GST, FBT, Payroll tax
• Prepare Balance sheet, P&L, Cash flow, analysis, and variance reporting
• Build business partner relationships with all managers and colleagues
• Group intercompany reconciliations in collaboration with European HQ
• Take ownership of the AP, AR and payroll functions
• Opportunity to set up new procedures to automate and optimise processes

Your Background
To be considered for this Senior Accountant role, you should have the following skills and attributes:

• Professionally qualified as an Accountant (e.g., CA / CPA / ACCA or equivalent)
• Proven experience preparing the month-end reporting and statutory requirements for an Australian entity
• Experience working in a product-based industry (FMCG, retail, consumer durables or closely related)
• Proven ability and willingness to work in a 'hands-on' capacity
• Previous SAP experience will be highly desirable
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal along with a collaborative disposition
