The Opportunity
We are looking for an experienced and proactive Accounting Services specialist to join our team.
This is a varied and interesting role for someone with a proven background in accounts payable and/or receivables. Your demonstrated knowledge and experience in these areas will increase your competitiveness for this role.
Some of the day-to-day activities may include (but not limited to)
- Maintaining customer and supplier information.
- Verifies legitimacy of refunds, supplier, and customer information.
- Processing transactions and adjustments in the receivables and payables systems.
- Performing GST compliance and accounting code checks.
- Managing integration of the sub ledgers to the general ledger.

This is a 12-month fixed term contract opportunity, with the possibility of extension(s) or permanency.
About you
- Perform the full Accounts Payable cycle in a timely and accurate manner, including creating payment runs
- Manage suppliers’ information and cash float register with high attention to detail and standards of integrity and security
- Assist with end of month and end of financial year procedures for Accounts Payable and/or Receivable
- Communicate effectively and deliver excellent customer service
- Be positive, flexible and adaptable to meet business requirements

What is a recruitment pool?
This is a pool recruitment process; we use recruitment pools to build a bank of talent who we feel might be suited to future opportunities within the Department of Transport. You may join us on a full-time, part-time, fixed term or permanent basis however an appointment is not guaranteed.
This pool process can be used to fill other part time and full-time positions that may arise over the next twelve months. The recruitment pool will remain open for a period of twelve (12) months from the date of first appointment.
