Job description:
This position contributes to the operation of the Magistrates Court - Coronial Division through the provision of administrative support.

Period of Appointment
Fixed-term appointment for 6 months.
Hours per fortnight
73.50 hours per fortnight - flexible options available.
Duties
The Officer will be required to complete the following tasks to deliver a Coronial division project:
Collate, audit and reconcile existing coronial files, forensic pathology files and university records.
Contribute to the day-to-day activities of the taskforce, including liaison with Health Department and other agency representatives if required.
Deal with enquiries from family members, members of the public, police officers, mortuary staff, private medical and Department of Health staff, legal practitioners and other persons or entities as necessary.
Provide a comprehensive level of administrative support and assistance to the coroner, including, from time to time, undertaking research and analysis and providing reports to coroner and others as required.
Ensure the proper and accurate recording of information for the coroner, together with the completion of necessary documentation for the coroner.
Undertake the closure and archiving of files including responding to the State Archivist concerning the management of those files.
Undertake record checks via Tasmania Police systems and databases (ie Compass, ATLAS and NPRS).
