Senior Advisor Aerial Capability$138,821 - $160,932 + 15.4% superFlexible location (located near an AMSA office)Full-time

ABOUT THE ROLE

This position leads a small team that is important to AMSA’s provision of Aerial Capability for search and rescue. It ensures that the AMSA Response Centre has capable assets available to respond to incidents and forms part of a section that manages large scale contracts for AMSA.

You will be responsible for:

  • Leading a geographically dispersed team of four aviation specialists
  • Working across a range of responsibilities, from procurement and management of small to mid-size contracts, to capability and equipment development
  • Ensuring the team effectively monitors and maintains standards across AMSA’s contracted aviation operators
  • Informing and influencing AMSA’s future capability decisions by staying abreast of new developments and emerging capabilities

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

To be successful in this position, you will have the following skills and experience:

  • Qualifications and/or relevant experience in contract management or procurement.
  • Understanding of the Commonwealth Procurement Rules and current practice in contract management.
  • Demonstrated experience and understanding of aviation or flight operations.
  • Strong written communication skills with demonstrated experience in producing persuasive written reports.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing a small team.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a flexible working style and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
