The Department's Marine Services Directorate delivers a range of marine services, managing marine assets, operations and programs. The Commercial Marine and State Waters team get involved and provide advice on initiatives relating to marine policy, marine based service contracts, marine based legislation, port and harbour developments, marine facilities, and other essential marine services.In this role, you’ll provide expert advice on marine-related contracts, legislation, and services. You will engage with various stakeholders to support key objectives, track project progress, and prepare comprehensive reports for senior leaders. Additionally, you’ll lead policy initiatives and contribute to strategic planning for marine asset investments.About You
You are a collaborative team player, with a strong work ethic and the drive to meet deadlines in a busy environment.You bring experience or transferrable experience in marine policy and contract management. Your ability to research, analyse, and provide recommendations is exceptional, including consultation with subject matter experts to deliver innovative and pragmatic advice and solutions. You possess strong written and verbal communication skills, and you’re adept at building and maintaining relationships with diverse stakeholders.Success in this role requires contemporary knowledge of marine issues, strong project management capabilities, and the ability to produce clear, concise reports. You’ll also demonstrate excellent negotiation skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.This role offers the opportunity for growth and development along with the ability to work on impactful projects and shape the future of marine services for our State. Relevant tertiary qualifications highly regarded.Contract management and project management expertise will be highly regarded.Special Conditions
The successful candidate will be required to provide a National Police Check (NPC) prior to employment with the Department for Infrastructure and Transport which must be renewed every three years.Some out of hours and weekend work, along with some intra/interstate travel requiring overnight stays, may be required.Remuneration
