With the company showing continued growth, we are seeking a Senior WHSEQ Advisor to join our Asset Operation and Sustainment team. The core purpose of the role is to undertake WHSEQ functions and help the varied business services, to ensure compliance with the Company Business Management System requirements. The role will involve ensuring High Risk Work activities involved with Transport and Fabrication, Mechanical, and Marine Operations are managed safely and effectively.
This role is a full-time, Permanent opportunity based out of our Dry Creek office.
Responsibilities:
- Implement, coordinate, and mentor workers in the McMahon Services Safety Certainty 2.0 program
- Foster a positive safety culture across the Business Service consistent with the McMahon Services values
- Complete incident investigations and mentor teams on investigation process as required
- Conduct SIFER self-assessments and Safe Act Observations on a regular basis
- Ensure Toolbox meetings are held weekly and encourage workforce feedback on WHSEQ matters
- Assist in the management of hazardous chemicals and maintenance of Safety Data Sheets
- Conduct drug (indicative) and alcohol testing as requested by the National WHS Operations Manager
- Ensure new/changed Company WHSEQ processes are communicated to the Business Service, and are effectively implemented
- Assist project teams and WHSEQ with safety audits
- Complete any other reasonable ad hoc activities requested by Management
- Attend WHSEQ meetings as required by the National WHSEQ Manager
About you:
To be successful in the role, you will need:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Certificate IV or greater in WHS
- Ability to obtain ADF DCAC & Police Check
- Current Valid Driver’s Licence
- Management System Audit Qualification (desirable)
- Proven success as a Safety Advisor (desirable)
- ICAM Lead Investigator Training (desirable)
