The Senior Advisor Communication and Media leads a small, high-performing team that drives corporate internal and external communication, engagement and Media activities, and delivers outcomes to promote the RTA’s services, reach, reputation and organisational culture.
Operating within a customer-focused, corporate environment that values your leadership skills, professional judgement and contributions, you will be part of a multidisciplinary team that partners with all areas of the RTA to provide strategic advice and quality content. You will respond quickly and effectively to planned, emerging and urgent opportunities and issues. To be successful you will need:
- Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing targeted and integrated Communication and Media strategies for internal and external audiences
- Proven media relations experience, specifically in responding to reactive media requests on deadline and pitching proactive media opportunities
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a high attention to detail in every element of writing, editing and publishing
- Take pride in developing and delivering quality and purposeful content and strategic advice that is timely, accurate, accessible and impactful
- Proven experience in collaborating and partnering with various stakeholders and subject matter experts to deliver high quality outcomes
- The ability to work under pressure and confidently manage and adapt flexibly to shifting priorities and leading through change
- Demonstrated experience working within a fast-paced corporate communications, media or public relations team is essential
- Demonstrated leadership experience to lead, coach and develop a small team of corporate communication professionals, including giving and being responsive to timely 360 feedback
