Bluefin Resources has partnered with a renowned and prestigious federal government enterprise to seek a Senior Analyst - Data Reporting for an initial 12 month contract with further extensions. This role is pivotal as it involves contributing to transformation of the organisations data strategy.
This multi-faceted role contributes to the redesign of internal and external reporting suite, as the department continues its focus on transforming our technology and use of data. The Senior Analyst - Data Reporting will contribute to the design, build, and maintenance of data access layers and / or datasets which serve the data dissemination process across different data collections.
Organisational Environment
Data Processes sits within Business & External Data Reporting, a team within the Chief Data Office function. The wider team, including Business Data Reporting, External Data Reporting and Data Processes, is responsible for the transformation and dissemination of data within the departments via interactive visualisations, dashboards, and other data access points.
These products are leveraged internally by supervision and risk teams to support decision making. The team is also responsible for the external dissemination of data via formal Statistical Publication suite, which is also supported by the Data Processes team. It is expected that some initiatives will see you working in blended teams, oriented around data products or delivery streams.
Accountabilities
- Use R and SQL to contribute to the design, build and maintenance of reproducible data pipelines and / or datasets which serve the data dissemination process across different data collections.
- Look to provide input and collaborate on build of cloud-based data pipelines and datasets as the data architecture evolves.
- Engage and collaborate with relevant stakeholders to understand data needs.
- Plan and execute data infrastructure and pipelines to supply data access to facilitate internal and external Data Reporting.
- Provide input on data collection and taxonomy design to facilitate report building and data querying.
- Work with Technology developers to provide requirements for how the data is modelled to facilitate downstream consumption.
- Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) of Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) code changes as required.
- Document processes and procedures to support implementation as required.
Capabilities
- Experience is building flexible but targeted data solutions.
- Producing and reviewing conceptual and logical PowerBI / SSAS data models.
- Coding experience in R, SQL and / or SSAS.
- Experience in building data solutions in a cloud environment is beneficial.
- Experience using DevOps and Git
- Ability to manage the needs and expectations of a variety of stakeholders.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
What's Available:
This opportunity commences as a 12 month contract, with a strong likelihood of extensions. The role offers a hybrid model working.
