Senior Ancillary Operator

We are currently recruiting for an Senior Ancillary Operator who will report directly into Supervisor – Open Pit.  We are offering this role on a 7:7 roster where you can drive in and out of site!

The Senior Ancillary Operator supports the open pit Ancillary Supervisor to ensure the safe and timely achievement of production targets by:

• Providing effective day to day supervision support such as managing resources (equipment) assignments, hot-seating plan, crew assignments and machine allocation, and assist with coverage planning/step-in development.
• Capture non-conformance in daily inspection sheet, and provide feedback to loading, hauling and ancillary supervisors on support required
• Clarify processes for task assignments between the senior operator and supervisor to prevent overlap
• Inspection and preparation of next priority areas
• Inspection of completed works before delivery to next customer.

The role:

• Assist in the coordination of the Ancillary team, and work closely with the loading and hauling teams to ensure the safe and timely execution of the daily/weekly ancillary plan to achieve mine production targets. Specific focus areas include day to day plan compliance.
• In the absence of the Open Pit Ancillary Supervisor, be required to perform higher duties
• Focus 70-80% of effort on ensuring our roads are managed, including loading bays and dump areas
• Set the expectations for the ancillary supervisor and drive improvement on road maintenance
• Provide the Open Pit Supervisor feedback on operator performance

About you:

• W.A. “C” and “MR” Class driver’s license
• Appropriate certificates of competency
• Previous heavy earthmoving experience
• Familiarity with open cut mining/quarry operations
• Previous experience in the mining industry
• Self motivated and disciplined
• Sound communication skills
