Minecon Recruitment are working with a Tier 1 Construction leader to employ full-time Safety Advisors for Australia’s largest infrastructure Project. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity, situated on various locations throughout Brisbane’s inner City. This opportunity will see you changing the way Queenslander’s travel. 

This role will have you reporting directly to the Project Manager and maintain a working relationship with internal and external teams.

Positions available:

• Lead Safety Advisor: Salary up to $180k package
• Senior Safety Advisor: Salary up to $140k package

Key accountabilities include, but do not limit to:

• Ensure compliance with all relevant legal and regulatory requirements and all relevant Company and Joint Venture policies and processes. 
• Demonstrate a personal commitment to the safety and health framework, policies and management system requirements and expectations 
• Develop and maintain an awareness of SHE hazards and associated risks and demonstrate a commitment to eliminate or minimise those risks 
• Understand and effectively undertake SHE accountabilities
• Assist in the development and enforcement of standards to ensure the Project complies with S&H regulatory and governance requirements
• Participation in and facilitation of high-level risk assessments including PPRR, CARR and WPRA’s 
• Preparation of management plans and ensuring adequate resources are available to meet compliance 

Minimum requirements to be considered: 

• Certificate IV Workplace Health and Safety
• Experience managing and working with Building finishing trades highly desirable
• Experience with ICAM investigations or Taproot Incident investigation 
• Previous and proven experience as a safety lead or Advisor within the Building and Construction or Civil industries 
• A strong understanding of Work Health & Safety Legislation 
• Experience auditing safety and health management systems 
• Demonstrated experience of Safety Management System development and implementation
