Job summary
Martinus is seeking a Senior Safety Advisor to come in and hit the ground running on one of the country's biggest rail infrastructure projects. Ideally you will come from a Rail or Heavy Civil's background and can impose strong health and safety management legislations across multiple construction and plant operating sites.
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Provide advice and drive continuous improvement to support the project team in maintaining a safe workplace.
- Developing and implementing policies and procedures to ensure project compliance.
- Monitor HSE performance of the project/site teams and contractors, ensuring that activities comply with related legislation and company policy.
- Liaising with external regulatory bodies and authorities, including Inland Rail representatives.
- Keep, monitor registers and prepare reports on maintenance and compliance activities.
- Assist in the development and compilation of relevant HSE documentation.
Knowledge, Skills and Attributes
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in health and safety roles.
- Relevant HSE qualifications (ie. Cert IV in WHS or higher)
- Experience in the interpretation and application of relevant WHS, Rail, Acts, Regulations, Australian Standards and Codes of Practice.
- A demonstrated ability to understand audits and risk assessments.
- ICAM Lead Investigator.
- Training and Assessor Certificate 4.
- Ability to travel and work required roster.
About A2P
The Inland Rail Program is a 1700km rail infrastructure project stretching from Brisbane to Melbourne incorporating new and existing rail track. The program includes the upgrading of existing standard gauge track, the enhancement of existing standard gauge track to cater for double stacking and the construction of new standard gauge links comprising of viaducts, tunnels, rail track, crossings and bridges.
Works in the Albury to Illabo and Stockinbingal to Parkes sections involve extensive enhancements to specific sites across the 355km of existing track running from Albury to Parkes. These enhancements will provide the necessary vertical and horizontal clearance along the existing 'Main South Line' corridor to support the safe running of double-stacked freight trains up to 1,800m long and 6.5m high.
