This role requires technical and functional maintenance of Medibank's systems as well as supporting the efficient operation of all ahm & OSHC core applications. You will be involved in optimisations, process improvements and proactive automation to ensure IT operations and system development lifecycles can be improved on.This is a great opportunity to be involved in a bit of everything from engaging with the core systems at Medibank to acting as a technical support for some of our external vendors. You will also have the chance to work with multiple areas of Medibank giving you the chance to learn from different teams and hubs.About the Role:
- Lead optimisation and process improvement initiatives that drive reduction of incidents and improvements in the operations of the overall application landscape.
- Develop solutions to restore normal business operations in the event of severity 1 or Severity incidents and contribute to problem records to allow root cause diagnosis.
- Provide expertise and guidance within the IT Application team to analyse incidents and problems.
- Develop and maintain processes and procedures required for support purposes.
- Ensure production deployments follow Medibank standards & methodologies.
- Perform application deployments in both prod and non-prod environments.
- Work with the internal teams to create automation efficiencies and drive improvements.
- Pro-actively develop and maintain relationships with key internal and external business stakeholders.
- Work as a team by providing support and knowledge transfer sessions where possible.
- Develop supporting documentation across configuration, process and procedures as required.
- Extensive experience in working with the following technology stack:
- SUSE Linux (or other UNIX flavours)
- SQL
- XML
- Windows O/S
- Python / Perl or similar scripting languages
- Experience working with the following toolset
- Atlassian stack - JIRA, Confluence
- Jenkins
- Splunk
- ServiceNOW or similar Service Management tools
- Release and environment management experience
- Environment scheduling and demand management
- Release packaging
- Experience in automation and batch scheduling
- Experience in an agile environment responding to evolving business needs and adapting quickly and effectively.
- Demonstrated understanding and implementation of ITIL processes
- Previous experience providing application focused support
- Technical development experience with multiple development methodologies
- Experience working with webservices and APIs
- Knowledge of the health care and/or health insurance industry
- Experience working in Cloud environments
