About the role:
We are looking for a skilled Senior Architect to perform all phases of architectural work including client liaison, project planning, design and documentation, as well as business development and mentoring junior members of the team, with plans to progress into a Principal role.
You must be a registered Architect who is passionate about delivering positive outcomes for the community.
Key Responsibilities:
Principal
- As a Principal the role will be primarily responsible for profitability of the Architecture team in Sydney/NSW.
- The role requires development of relationships with Local and State Government in NSW, and identifies suitable opportunities for COMPLETE to create Return Briefs and Fee Proposals that will be acceptable to our Clients.
- Collaboratively work with the other COMPLETE Principals in both the Sydney and Gold Coast offices to improve the culture and performance of the business.
- Manage, guide and inspire a small Architecture team, as well as planning for sustainable growth
- Identify and recruit suitable candidates to meet the growing needs of the Urban Design team, while also managing the development of existing team members.
Senior Architect
- Meet client expectations and ensure successful outcomes by providing functional, inspirational and sustainable design.
- Manage each project from start to finish to ensure high quality, innovative and functional design
- Meet with clients on a regular basis to address their project needs
- Prepare feasibility reports and design proposals
- Develop ideas keeping in mind client's needs, the use of the building and environmental impact
- Produce detailed documentation for tender and construction
- Manage and adhere to project budgets and timelines
- Ensure that all works are carried out to specific standards, building codes, guidelines and regulations
- Mentor and act as a guide for junior members of the team.
- Maintain close working relations with clients in Local and State Government, identifying suitable business growth opportunities for COMPLETE.
- Ensure that all matters relating to contracts, administration and project scheduling are met and that any issues are quickly resolved with minimum distraction.
- Manage and coordinate sub-consultants
Qualifications:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Architecture
- 7+ years post graduate experience
- Registration with AIA
- Community focused work experience, and local government relationships would be considered an advantage
Skills:
- Strong communication and project management skills
- Drawingskills and familiarity with design software (ArchiCad, AutoCad, Revit Adobe Photoshop, SketchUp, 3D graphics packages)
- Strong imagination and the ability to think and create in three dimensions
- Excellent building construction knowledge
- Visual awareness and an eye for detail
