Commodities, Trade and Carbon (CTC) is a department of Institutional Banking & Markets (IB&M) and is responsible for all of the Group's activities in commodity, trade finance and carbon related activities. This covers both physical trading, financing, derivative markets and operational support function for IB&M as well as Business Banking (BB) client segments.
The CTC Chief Operating Office is responsible for the execution of a range of operational, strategic and business transformation initiatives. Working closely with Group and IB&M stakeholders, the team supports the growth of the CTC business by delivering a range of innovative commodity, trade finance and carbon products to meet the needs of our Institutional, Corporate and Business Bank clients.

This highly visible Senior Associate role will work with existing COO team members and partner with stakeholders across IB&M and Group and be responsible for the execution of strategy, delivery and implementation of products, processes and projects for the Commodities and Carbon businesses within CTC as well as drive, lead and deliver best practice product governance. Further responsibilities will include:
- Managing the operating effectiveness of the Commodities & Carbon Business (products, processes and controls), including driving remediation of risk issues.
- Driving the end-to-end development and implementation of new products,
- Working in partnership with key stakeholders across IB&M and BB to achieve product, client and revenue outcomes.
- Keeping abreast of regulatory changes that will impact the business taking appropriate steps to ensure capital reporting is accurate.
- Managing and co-coordinating the resolution of issues arising from audits or compliance.

This will be a hands-on role, requiring a highly motivated self-starter with strong communication and stakeholder management skills and a commercial acumen that can meet the rapid delivery demands of the business. As such, we require a highly skilled candidate with;
- Experience in a trading, sales, product management, business management or operations capacity.
- Project management experience with a proven ability to drive initiatives, think laterally and achieve commercial outcomes
- Highly developed analytical skills that can be applied across the end-to-end Commodities and Carbon offering, including downstream booking and risk systems.
- Strong influencing, negotiation and communication skills.
- Working knowledge of risk management requirements.
