Key Responsibilities
- Lead engineer responsible for a project team including electrical engineers and revit modellers
- Preparation of design briefs, fee proposals, project budgets, tender appraisals, and site instructions.
- Attendance at Design Meetings, Site Inspections, and Final Inspections as required.
- Development of engineering documentation and reports as required.
- Preparation of engineering drawings and documents to meet project timelines.
- Preparation of single lines diagrams and schematics.
- Preparation of technical specifications, reports and contract documents.
- Preparation of engineering markups, sketches etc.
- Engineering calculations such as lighting calculations, cable sizing, Maximum Demands, BCA Section J calculations.
- Manage team quality assurance to ensure project documentation is to the highest standard.
- Ensure project team follows company policy including Employee handbook and QA Manual.
- Coordination of design with other engineers and appreciation of other services disciplines.
- Liaise with Architects, Contractors and Clients as required.
- Project finances including variations, assistance with invoicing and final account.
- Business Development – actively seeking opportunities, growing client base as well as maintain existing relationships.
- Assistance with developing the office and engineering standards and maintaining best practices.
- Manage team workload, project priorities and deadlines to ensure projects are delivered in accordance with client requirements.
- Assist with recruitment of new staff, staff reviews and mentor junior staff.
- Proactive approach to developing the office and engineering standards and maintaining best practices with the team.
- Development of engineering documentation and reports as required through all phases of the project.
- Preparation of engineering documents to meet project timelines.
- Accurate engineering calculations as required.
- Mentor and train staff.
The successful applicant will have:
- Degree in Electrical Engineering with CPEng and NER.
- Extensive experience as an engineering professional.
- Experience planning and implementing engineering projects.
- Project management experience.
- Experience of relevant engineering systems/processes/technologies.
- A proven track record delivering high-quality engineering services.
- Demonstrated capacity to develop relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders and negotiate desired outcomes.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to envision and deliver required solutions.
- Project management skills.
- Commercial awareness.
- Ability to maintain high-level technical competence and quality.
- Ability to manage successful client/supplier relationships.
- Knowledge of relevant health and safety regulation.
